1. Library
The Library and the Audiovisual Center opened on September 18, 1995 when NKFUST started its operation. They provided students and faculty members with all kinds of information services. The first Library Director was Mr. Chen, Wun-Sheng, who was also the Computer Center Director. To solve a problem of space, another branch was set up in the College of Management on April 7, 1997 to store reference books, journals, newspapers, and special collections that couldn’t be borrowed. In August, 1998, Chinese, Japanese, and English social science, business, and management books were moved to this branch so that teachers and students in the College of Management could get easy access.
2. Computer Center
The Computer Center started services on August 1, 1995. Its main tasks are the campus-wide network installation and the computerization of school administration.
3. Library & Information Center
The Library and the Computer Center moved to the new Library & Information Building on June 26, 2001 and reopened on August 10, 2001. (The Multimedia Center on the first floor delayed opening until October 16 due to the damage a typhoon caused on July 11.) For the purpose of integrating the school’s collections and information resources, enhancing the research and learning assistance for both teachers and students, and supporting the computerization of school administration, the Library and the Computer Center have jointly become the Library & Information Center since August 1, 2001. The incumbent director was Dr. Shue, Li-Yen , the professor of the Department of Information Management. |
